Substitute Teacher/ParaPro Class

Substitute Teacher Classes


Substitute Teacher Classes for those who hold Less Than a 4 Year Degree:  Interested individuals need to complete a substitute application with the School District of Oconee County, have a screening interview, and be cleared to take sub classes.  (Please contact Tammie Fletcher for questions concerning the substitute application process:  864-886-4400 ext. 6119)  Classes meet Monday through Thursday mornings from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at Code Learning Center.  Students must attend all classes for a minimum of 30 hours.  The TABE test (Test of Adult Basic Education) will be given at the beginning of class and at the end along with the WIN Career Readiness Test (See schedule below).  Students need to obtain a scale score of 550+ to show proficiency in reading and math on the TABE Test.  Lab times are available if students need to improve these skills and retest.  All meetings will be held at Code Learning Center.  All District Orientation sessions will be held from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at Code Learning Center in the Media Center.  Prior to District Orientation, all sub class dates are required.
